Children's Services

Ashram's Children and Families team target vulnerable children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse. These children come from our two schemes and also from the wider community. Our work is in line with local and national targets and works towards the ‘Every Child Matters’ policy.

Children who come to our services are often traumatised by their experiences and as a result have nightmares and show various signs of distress. Al of these have an enormous impact on their development. They are often unable to concentrate in school and socialise with peers.

Our Children's Services identify these needs and work closely with families to ensure these needs are addressed by staff or with support from specialist agencies such as Social Services or Sure Start Centres.
