Jas Bains: Chief Executive of Ashram Housing Association
Jas is the Chief Executive of Ashram. He has been chief executive since 2003 and has helped transform the association into a multi national award winning organisation. In addition to overseeing Ashram Jas has corporate responsibility for leading the Accord Group’s work in economic regeneration and neighbourhood development.
He is a board member of Advantage West Midlands, an ambassador for apprenticeships, responsible for many of Ashram's achievements, and a key figure in promoting innovation across the Accord Group.
In his spare time Jas is an avid follower of Wolverhampton Wanderers!
Amanda Nicholls: Assistant Chief Executive of Ashram Housing Association
Amanda joined Ashram Housing Association in 2003 as Assistant Director following her departure from Birmingham City Council’s Housing Department where she spent 12 years. Her career in housing started initially as Neighbourhood Housing Manager but then went on to undertake a range of responsibilities including: Contract Manager, Area Housing Manager and more latterly Housing Needs Manager where she had responsibility for homelessness, temporary accommodation, special needs and allocations.
Prior to her employment with Birmingham City Council Amanda carried out a range of supervisory and management functions within the Industrial Society and has attained the Certificate in Training and Development as well a Certificate in Communications and Management in Housing.
Amanda is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Coaching and Mentoring
Amanda is not one to stay still and when she is not in work she enjoys walking, cycling, regular visits to the gym and eating!

Jean Tompkins: Head of Health and Social Care
Jean started in social care in the 90’s, having spent most of her career prior to that in the catering business.
Jean started with Hereford and Worcester managing a rehabilitation unit for people of all ages from 16 to 104. The centre was for short stay respite and rehabilitation to support people to return home and day opportunities to reduce loneliness and isolation.
Following that Jean joined a Housing Association and managed an Extra Care scheme in Wolverhampton when there were few extra care schemes in the country. Jean eventually managed all Older Peoples Services in the Black Country before leaving to join Accord Housing Association Limited.
Jean joined Ashram in 2007 having managed the extra care schemes for 4 years whilst at Accord Housing Association.
