Repairs

Helping to ensure that residents’ homes are in a state of good repair is one of our main
priorities at Ashram.

All residents are given a repairs handbook and you can download a copy from this page. This handbook tells you about the repairs service we provide if you are a resident of Ashram Housing Association. It tells you what we need to know to arrange a repair in your home. It also contains instructions on how to do some simple tasks yourself.

Before you contact us, please look up your repair problem on the appropriate section on pages 15-46. You can find out what details we need to know about the repair we need to carry out. By giving us as much information as you can, you can help us get the problem fixed quickly.

When you contact us to report a repair, please have this book with you. Our staff have the same drawings on screen so they can talk through the problem with you.

For routine repairs you can email us on customerfirst@accordgroup.org.uk or complete an Online Repair Request (this will navigate away from this main site). You can also call us on 0300 111 7000. If you need to call us to report an emergency repair outside of normal office hours, your call will be transferred automatically to our out-of-hours service.

Have a pen and paper ready to write down the repairs order number and the name of the contractor who will come and complete the repair. Also please have your diary or calendar with you. We need to know when someone can be at home to allow the repair worker in to do the work.

A responsible adult must be in the home while the repair is being carried out.

Before you let anyone into your home to carry out a repair, inspection or gas servicing, you should check their identity card. If you are at all unsure, ask the person to stay outside, and then phone us for advice.

Residents were involved in the selection of our two contrators and helped to set service standards. Residents continue to help shape and improve the service and have a key role to play in monitoring performance.

All repairs are are carried out on behalf of the Accord Group by Mears apart from gas boiler and gas fire breakdowns which are carried out by Connaught.
