Accord AGM and all that Jazz!
15 September 2017
Accord’s AGM and Annual Event 2017 was held this year at Dudley’s historic Himley Hall, and was a resounding success. Once the official business was concluded, Accord shareholders, stakeholders, customers and colleagues were able to reflect upon another year of achievement, innovation and development.
Keynote speaker at the event was Dudley North MP, Ian Austin, who gave a considered yet passionate speech about how housing, health & wellbeing and education must be the key priorities going forward for the region and the country. He also had wide ranging views about how to tackle the housing crisis, naming Accord’s LoCaL Homes model as a real solution.
The evening also saw the inaugural showing of Accord’s new film Putting You in the Picture: People, place and innovation. Available to view both through Accord’s YouTube channel and here on Accord’s Promotional films section of the website, the film showcases Accord’s great people, great places and outstanding examples of innovation. Accord’s Annual Report 2017 was available during the event and you can download in Publications
Accord colleagues also put on an Expo event showcasing their services to the almost 200 guests of the event. Customer First, LoCal Homes, InDesign, Old Tree Nursery, Accord Care & Support as well as other key initiatives were represented.
In keeping with the art nouveau style of Himley Hall, a jazz quartet played throughout the evening, and replenished with a traditional fish and chip supper, everyone left with a greater understanding of the range of work in which Accord is involved for our communities, and well as a feel for the challenges ahead.
